Creative Futures – Celebrating Young People

As part of our commitment to increase our connections with the local community, the BPT (Building Preservation Trust) have pledged some of our Cultural recovery funding to The Great North Wood Collective for their Creative Futures – Celebrating Young People Project.

“We are very pleased to have been able to support this project giving local young people from three of the largest estates in the area the chance to be involved in the creative industries. At a time when the arts are being stripped back in schools it really is up to us as community groups to ensure that the next generation get the opportunity to explore their creativity.”

Charlotte Benstead – BPT Chair

The Creative Futures project will give up to 150 young people from 3 Crystal Palace housing estates a chance to make their voices heard while developing skills to help them secure future employment. The funds raised will give them a chance to express their ideas while being coaches by highly quality artists to creative and performa their own artistic work. This outreach initiative is part of the Spirit of the Estate initiative run by the producers of the Crystal Palace Festival.
