General Council (GC) are pleased to announce the return of open GC meetings. Our next open meeting will be on Monday 14th June at 8pm on Zoom.
It was agreed following the 2019 AGM that GC would open its doors formally to the membership to be transparent about how we work on behalf of the membership. Over the last year, as we transitioned rapidly into working remotely, we paused open meetings, with the hope that we would open up more quickly than we did. We’re sorry if anyone has missed open meetings. We have ensured that the minutes are all uploaded on the website so you can still see what we have been doing here.
A few things to note:
Do I need to book? An event has been set up by the Membership Secretary in Love Admin so that we know how many to expect and to check that attendees are members. There will be no cost and no limitation on numbers. Those who have booked will be sent a Zoom link a few days prior to the meeting.
What is the format? There will be a public section, where most of the business will be conducted and then a private section, if necessary, for any confidential business when members will be asked to leave. The agenda for the public section will be published a week in advance on the website.
Can I participate in the meeting? Members will be able to observe the public section and then we will have a short session at the end for any Q&As before moving to the private section.
Items of interest. If you have an item or issue that you want GC to consider then please approach Simon Gleisner Chairman@southlondontheatre.co.uk or Fiona Daffern Generalsecretary@southlondontheatre.co.uk two weeks in advance of the meeting and raise the issue with them. The issue can then be raised formally at the meeting on your behalf, if appropriate.
