Members’ Event: Random Reads

Random Reads – 29 June, 2019

The Importance of Being Earnest

“I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, it would be my singular pleasure to invite you to an evening of high wit, delectable company and cucumber sandwiches.

The first of what I hope becomes a regular event in the South London Theatre social calendar, Random Reads aims to be a fast-paced, hopefully hilarious, reading of a beloved script.

The setup is simple:
– Characters per scene are drawn from a hat
– Whoever you draw, you read. NO SWAPPING!
– The scene is read with gusto and pace (and possibly hats/props)
– There may be some audience interaction
– Everyone who wants to read, gets to read

The main aim of the evening is to be a bit silly and have lots of fun, whilst supporting our fantastic theatre bar. You do not have to read if you do not wish to, but can just sit back and watch the insanity.
