Jumpers for Goalposts

by Tom Wells
Director: Will Howells

Performances:    January 14-18, 2020
First rehearsal: 10 November, 2019

It might be just a laugh for her teammates but Viv dreams of winning the local LGBT football league – or at least not coming last. Unfortunately Geoff is distracted by the opposition, Joe is distracted by grief, and Luke and Danny are distracted by each other. Is victory against the lesbians too much to ask?

Jumpers for Goalposts is an ensemble piece with five roles, all of whom feature throughout. The characters are from the Hull area so Hull/Humberside accents are particularly welcomed but ‘generic northern England’ at a minimum.

Viv – female, early 30s to early 40s
Joe – male, early 30s to early 40s (Viv’s brother-in-law)
Beardy Geoff – male, mid 20s to mid 30s; has a beard (of course); sings and plays guitar
Danny – male, early 20s
Luke – male, 18 to early 20s

Any questions please email the director, Will.
