TOPIC: Film Club Saturday 16th May Rosemary's Baby

Film Club Saturday 16th May Rosemary's Baby 2 years, 7 months ago #1

OK. If The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari wasn't creepy enough for you, this 1968, Roman Polanski-directed classic ought to do the trick!

Based on the novel by Ira Levin, this tale of the occult set in 1960s New York is in many  people's top ten films. Starring Mia Farrow (as Rosemary Woodhouse), John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon, and Ralph Bellamy, the film concerns a young couple, a struggling actor and his wife, who move into an old apartment building and meet and are befriended by an old couple who live there. When Rosemary becomes pregnant, apparently as a result of her husband impregnating her while she was unconcious following eating a strange tasting dessert at a dinner party given by their neighbours, things begin to take a distinctly occult turn.....

Be warned. There is no room behind our sofas for nervous movie-wathcers!
