Director, Charlotte Benstead is thrilled to announce her cast for our July production, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice: The audition process for Jim Cartwright’s The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, our late July show, was more of a marathon than a sprint. The World’s Wife – Behind the Scenes

SLT’s production next week is a dramatic staging of a series of poems by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. The collection of poems were first published in 1999 as The World’s Wife, an anthology of work which re-examines myths and legends which traditionally have focus actively on a male protagonist. I first saw this show at the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2011, and again at the St James’ theatre in Victoria in early 2015. I absolutely loved its wit, humour and staging. All live in fear of foxes – or the ‘red beast’ which have been propelled from simple vermin into creatures imbued with terrifying power to become a true symbol of evil. Such is the horror the beasts inspire that a department has […]

Casting Announcement: Love’s Labour’s Lost

The Blitz. London, 1942. Whilst blackout regulations were enforced and air raid sirens wailed, for some the show continued. Theatres were requisitioned as shelters and performances continued. Luxurious hotels transformed their basement levels into ‘air raid shelters’ complete with cabaret tables, acts and bars. At some venues performances continued only to be halted by a direct hit. This evening the sirens have gone off again, those frequenting the Stanley Halls have been ushered downstairs to the ‘shelter’. The drinks are flowing […]
