Written in 1941, just before Brecht's exile in the USA, Arturo Ui is a savage and witty parable of the rise of Hitler - recast by Brecht in terms of a small-time Chicago gangster's takeover of the city's greengrocery trade.

With over 30 speaking parts the production requires a large cast, with many actors required to take 2 or 3 roles. As well as this I also need a number of extras (bodyguards, businessmen etc) and I have endeavoured to match these with at least one speaking part so that everyone will feel involved.

• Giuseppe Givola - a Florist & Gangster
• Old Dogsborough - a Businessman
• Young Dogsborough - his Son
• Dockdaisy - Roma's Moll

Most of the parts are for men, however many of them can be changed to women. American accents are needed for most parts but please don't let this put you off - they're not too hard and I intend to enlist help in this area. Age-range is entirely flexible for most roles.

Please come and audition. There are plenty of parts so everyone has a good chance of being involved. I'm just as interested in seeing new members as I am in "old hands".

Scripts should be available in the Bar by the time you read this (if not before). Please return them once read.
