Skellig by David Almond
Directed by Lorraine Spenceley

Performances: Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th April 2010, Prompt Corner

Michael and his family have moved into a new house which used to belong to an old man. Michael’s father warns him not to go into the dilapidated garage as it is dangerous, but like all children Michael cannot resist the temptation to explore. Amongst all the boxes and dead insects Michael find a strange human-like creature called Skellig who seem to almost have wasted away. Mina who lives next door to Michael becomes his best friend and together they look after Skellig, taking him Chinese food, aspirin and brown ale.

What kind of creature is Skellig? Is he an old man cripples with arthritis? Or is he an angel who has lost his way?
