Mark Renton and friends welcome us to a visceral world of bedroom accidents, domestic violence and heroin addiction. A story of escape with little hope of redemption, it's funny and depressing in equal measures. This adaptation of Irvine Welsh's seminal novel pulls no punches.

The play will be workshopped extensively over the summer, so cast members will need to be available from 1-4pm every Saturday from 26th July. Accents will need to be passable for the setting, Edinburgh.

Cast

Mark Renton – playing age mid-late 20’s, unemployed, university drop out, junky
Tommy Murphy - playing age mid-late 20’s, unemployed, into drink, E and clubbing
Alison – playing age mid-late 20’s, waitress, mother of Dawn, junky
Franco Begbie – playing age mid-late 20’s, petty criminal, heavy drinker, hard nut

All other parts will be performed by those cast in the above roles, including Sickboy, Mother Superior, Lizzie MacIntosh & Mrs Renton.

However, if you do not fall into the above limited demographic but are interested in being involved, there will be a number of unique opportunities. For further information, please contact Peter Stevens.
