On the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death, SLT staged an evening of performances at Stanley Halls celebrating the legacy of the great bard. There were scenes from As you Like It, Richard II, Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing. Audiences were also treated to songs, sonnets, comedy sketches and a bit of irreverent sci-fi.
The free event was a part of our continued fundraising campaign to aid the restoration of our Old Fire Station theatre in West Norwood. Cakes & tarts, a raffle and donations raised £233 for the cause.
Many thanks to Stanley Halls, the bakers, performers, raffle and cake sellers for all their time and talent that went into making it a great success and hugely fun.
Dave Hollander created & curated the event and penned an article about the history of SLT’s Shakespearean productions which you can read here.
