SLT Sewing Bee

Come along to the SLT Sewing Bee

A chance to socialise with members, help maintain our costume collection and get creative

Our costume collection is a fantastic asset and we need to look after it. Every week we hire out our costumes and with 20+ shows a year, some of the collection is showing signs of wear and tear.

We have set up the following dates for the inaugural Sewing Bee sessions and thereafter we will move to a monthly meet up. Pin these dates in your diaries:

Saturday 15 February 13.00-15.00
Saturday 7 March 13.00-15.00
Sunday 15 March 13.00-15.00
Saturday 21 March 13.00-15.00

Please sign up here if you are interested in joining the group please email us using the button link at the bottom of this article.

Everyone is welcome whether you can sew on a button, stitch a hem, alter a waistband, darn a hole, repair a lining or cut out a pattern.

We will also be having making and creating sessions. Our period men’s shirts are much in demand so we would like to refresh our stock; think pirate, peasant, dandy.

We will supply the patterns and fabric and refreshments. You just need to bring along your skills and any other items which may be useful on the day.

If you have an overlocker or sewing machine and a supply of cotton thread, please bring them along. Make sure to label any other equipment such as scissors.

Ready, thready, go!
