This week the Norwood Society made a kind donation to the South London Theatre’s ongoing restoration project. SLT would like to thank them for their donation and the work that they do maintaining the heritage of our local area.
The Norwood Society was set up in 1960 by some members of the local community who had the foresight to form an organisation that could protect the heritage of its local area and share with people its history.
As well as the important work it does reviewing planning applications that may be detrimental to the aesthetic of the local environment, the society also organises illustrated talks and tours throughout the year.
Their members receive a free quarterly journal that lists these events alongside planning reports and articles about the local history.
