Remember the Summer at Stanley Halls when the brave cast performed Around the World in 80 degrees dressed in tweed and velvet ?
Remember when we watched Toad of Toad Hall in the sweltering heat at the old Fire station?
Well those memories will, we hope, be a thing of the past as the work on the improved air handling system is about to start. For the less technically minded amongst us all you need to know is bits are being moved about, new bits are being installed and unsightly parts removed altogether !
It does mean that for a couple of months we will be busy repainting and making sure the mural and bar ceiling are put back into good shape but the works should not affect your nights at the Barden, at rehearsals (remember those) or in the auditorium.
The work has been funded by the Heritage Fund through their cultural recovery programme, so we are forever grateful to them. Chaz and Carole have led the team on the planning and Bex has been working with the contractors.
In the meantime can you think of some suitable plays that we could put on in our newly chilled space?
