Thanks to DCMS funding, we’re delighted to to offer three online courses starting soon, which are free to SLT members. Each member can apply for a free place on one course. If you wish to join in with more than one course, as long as there are places, you can pay a fee to join. If you have any questions, please contact Teresa at firstname.lastname@example.org
You can register for your place via the Membership System on the LoveAdmin app. Simply proceed to the ‘Payment’ page or tap ‘Courses’ in the app. (Get the app at the Google Play Store or Apple App Store – links available on the Membership page). Once you have registered for your place, you’ll see the course title in your LoveAdmin profile and the course option will no longer show in ‘Courses’ on the app.
Tuesdays 12 noon – 1.30pm 19 January – 23 February (6 weeks) or
Thursdays 7 – 8.30pm 21 January – 25 February (6 weeks)
This course is for new creative writers or those looking to focus their writing and get new ideas. On this course, you will consider all aspects of writing fiction. This course is practical, rather than theoretical. The focus is on playing with words, language, story: exploring what works and what doesn’t and why.
The course will be taught by Irish prize-winning author and scriptwriter of five novels, Laura Citron, who’s also a professionally-trained actor with TV, theatre and film credits; for more information, go to lanacitron.com
“Stories help us to find out who we are, and discover who we could be. Each story helps us experience new ways in which to see the world in which we live. Storytelling both inspires and gently reminds us that we are enough.” This storytelling experience asks you to participate, and enjoy the magic when it happens. Feel empowered and confident to tell your story.
5x 90-minute sessions at 7pm, Mondays 25 January – 15 February, plus Tuesday 16 February
The course will be taken by Eli Anderson, Storyteller and Narrative Coach. Eli is the Director of StoryAID, which uses storytelling and poetry to enhance human dignity, equality and diversity.
Walkeoke is a fun, easy walking-based workout to some of your favourite tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s.
Friday 22 and 29 January, 7 – 7.45pm
You can easily take part on your feet or seated, following the arms and upper body work. Come along to loosen your joints and muscles, smile more, worry less and even tick off around 2,000 steps. In this friendly session just for SLT members, we will dance to disco classics and tunes from musicals. You will get warm instead of tired, using the music to boost your mood and increase your energy rather than use it up. The session is all about fun and it really gives you a lift!
The sessions will be taken by Barbara Hockady (known as Bobbi), an actor and musical director/composer. After an acting contract was cut short, she took the opportunity in lockdown to combine her love of disco and great pop music with a way to keep moving and smiling from the comfort and safety of home.
