Submissions for our 2024 season – part two

29 Oct 23

Calling All Directors! We are opening submissions for the second half of our 2024 season from 1 November. They will remain open until 30 November. The second half of the season runs from August to December 2024.

If you would like to submit a play that you want to direct, please complete the 2024 Season Submission Form.

Once you have submitted your form, please get a script of the play to the SLT Theatre Committee as soon as you can. You can do this by emailing an electronic copy to the Theatre Committee email address.

Alternatively, you can bring a hard copy of the script into South London Theatre FAO the Theatre Committee.

What you need to know

There are a few other important things to consider before you submit…

The play you choose should not have been performed at SLT for at least a decade. (To check on what we have produced over the last decade, our archive is here.)

When choosing your play, please check that the rights may be available for your chosen production – publishers’ websites like Nick Hern Books and Concord are a good way to check.

Anyone can submit, as we welcome new and returning directors to SLT.

We’ll be considering submissions immediately following the November 30 deadline, with a view to announcing the season in late January 2024.

In addition to our usual shows, we are also seeking submissions for our yearly family Christmas show for 2024! These traditionally have a two-week run in December and, similar to our summer shows, they need to be appropriate for all ages.

This year we have our magnificent adaptation of Beauty and the Beast if you are looking for inspiration!

Don’t forget the deadline for submissions is midnight on 30 November 2023.

A reminder that you can find the submission form here.

If you have any questions you can email the Theatre Committee, who will be happy to help.

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
