Urgent call out for directors – March 2024 slot

The Theatre Committee (TC) is urgently seeking a director to put on a show at SLT in March 2024.

This is because we were unable to secure the performance rights for Contractions by Mike Bartlett, which was due to run in March as part of our recently announced 2024 season.

The show should be for two to three performers, either a comedy or a drama, and one that hasn’t been produced within the last 10 years at SLT. To see what we have produced over the last decade, our archive is here.

The show will run from Tuesday 19 March to Saturday 23 March 2024. Your auditions will need to take place in early December, with your first rehearsals beginning in early January.

If you feel you have a suitable show that you would like to direct at SLT and these dates are not a problem for you, then we on TC would love to hear from you.

All you need to do is send us a short email with the following information: a paragraph containing a short synopsis of the play and a few lines about your directing experience.

Please email this by to the TC inbox by Sunday 12 November. 

If you have an electronic copy of the play, please also email it to TC at the same address. Alternatively, you can leave a hard copy of the play at the theatre, marked FAO The Theatre Committee.

Please note this call out is separate to the current request we recently sent out for play submissions for August to December 2024.
