How can I direct at SLT?

South London Theatre is always open to new directing talent, as much as it looks for acting talent, and anyone can submit a play or show to direct, even before they join as a member.

If you have previous experience directing at other groups or companies, then a submission to direct will be especially well received. Otherwise, you may wish to get in touch about Assistant Director roles, where you can support a Director on a production ahead of becoming a Director yourself.

The shows are selected season by season, by our Theatre Committee, an elected subcommittee of SLT's General Council. They will aim for a diverse yet balanced season, considering everything from contemporary dramas to classic comedies, period pieces and even musicals. If your submission to direct is approved, you would be required to purchase Full Membership prior to rehearsals commencing.
