Your Visit to SLT

Please try and arrive early for the performance, as due to the layout of the stage, it is not possible to admit latecomers.

Our Gothic revival-style former fire station was built in 1881, and remains a rare example of a fire station built for horse-drawn tenders, with the original look-out tower and doors still in place.

After being used mainly as a church hall for neighbouring St Luke’s after 1917, in 1967 it was converted to a theatre, and we’ve been at the heart of our south London community ever since. Whatever the purpose of your visit to us, you’re very welcome!

Box Office and Show Arrival FAQs

Can I book tickets over the telephone?

TicketSource now offer a free booking service, call the TicketSource telephone box office number 0333 666 3366. They are available Monday to Friday, 9.00AM to 7.00PM and Saturday, 9.00AM to 5.00PM (excluding bank holidays)

Money is tight, are there cheap tickets available?

We have flexible pricing on Wednesdays, and you can adjust the pricing down to a minimum of £5.00 to see a show.

How much do you charge for tickets?

We offer discounted early bird tickets and tickets for SLT shows are always cheaper for SLT members. If you're a regular audience member, it really is worth considering at least a SLT Supporter Circle subscription to benefit from discounted tickets (see below) Find out more about prices and returns on this page

What time should I arrive?

Our doors open 45 minutes before the showtime on your e-ticket. Even if you’ve booked in advance, please do aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the show starts (30 minutes if you need to buy a ticket on the door or are seeking a return for a sold-out show). The bar will be open and you’ll be able to buy a drink and take it into the auditorium with you.

What should I do on arrival?

When you arrive please check in with the Box Office as they have a list of everyone who has booked to see the show and can sell you a ticket if you haven’t booked in advance (subject to availability). Please make sure you can also access your ticket via your mobile phone or a print-out.

You can then go to the bar or wait in the foyer until we open the house for you to take your seat. This will usually be 10-15 minutes before the show begins. Seats are unreserved apart from the front row for anyone with mobility issues - please let us know in advance should you need a front row seat for that reason, or if you need a wheelchair space.

What if I’m running late?

Please try and let the Box Office know by emailing us or calling 020 3757 6111

Please allow plenty of time to get to us. We generally always aim to start shows on time unless we know there are local transport issues affecting many audience members. We’re sorry, but we’re not always able to admit latecomers once the show has started, so you may have to wait until the interval (if there is one).

What if I can’t make the show?

Please let us know if you have a last-minute change of plans or emergency that means you can’t join us. Email us or call
020 3757 6111 (you may need to leave a message and we’ll come back to you). We do offer an exchange on tickets for another night or another show if available, but will generally only refund if we've cancelled a show.

Can I choose my seating?

Seats in the auditorium are unreserved apart from the front row for anyone with mobility issues - please let us know in advance should you need a front row seat for that reason, or if you need a wheelchair space.

Is there a cafe or restaurant at the theatre?

No, we have a well stocked bar, which sells snacks, but unfortunately we don't have the facilities to serve food. There are a number of pubs and restaurants nearby, and some of them are shown in the list above.

What is your What3words location?
