Youth Theatre
Welcoming young people
Drama for 7 to 18 year olds
South London Theatre Youth Drama classes take place on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the school term. We also regularly run holiday activities for different age groups, including one-off workshops and longer courses.
Our classes are friendly, informal and fun. Our aim is to develop young people's confidence and explore creativity through drama games and group work. Participants will make new friends, have fun and have opportunities to perform in front of an audience - of peers, family and friends, or even a paying theatre crowd. In 2022 for example, two separate casts put on an exciting adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth over four nights to full houses.
Unique Experiences
From time to time, we organise special events and visits for the youth classes. In 2021 we had talks from two actors, Mark Ebulue (Manhunt Nightstalker 2021) and Olivier Award nominated, Jamael Westman (lead in Hamilton 2017-2022). We also visited West Norwood cemetery as part of exploring the theme of Gothic mysteries.
