When We Are Married, A Director’s View

Our March show is J.B. Priestley’s Edwardian comedy of manners, When We Are Married, set in 1908 and first performed in 1938. Director Anthony Campling gives us his take on this classic comedy. Theatre Committee are looking for submissions for a Christmas Show.  This could be a pantomime or another family friendly show. Fun shows with music are also welcome. Please consider how adaptable the show can be in different spaces. Please get your submissions to us by March 15.

2016, Full Season Announced

SLT’s Theatre Committee are thrilled to reveal the rest of the South London Theatre’s exciting 2016 Season. This year’s season has been a tricky one to finalise. Rights to some directors’ first choice plays were unavailable which is a common and a difficult part of the selection process. The Old Fire Station – Update on building works, February 2016

Tenders were received from five contractors. The lowest price was in excess of the HLF budget and although differences are usual, this was much larger than expected and has taken time to resolve. The best price was from William Anelay Ltd of York who have been designated preferred contractor for the project with the HLF’s approval. Sonia Burke, Service & Thanksgiving

Dear South London Theatre Club members, It is with deep regret that we have to tell you that Sonia Burke passed away on the 26th January. She joined the Club in 1973 with her friend Marion after they heard about it at a Brockwell Park County Show. Sonia was primarily involved in stage management, occasionally taking on acting roles and was a bunny girl for Casino night. Sonia made many dear friends at the Club.
