Building update and the RePurpose grant
4 Nov 2024
Unfortunately, things have not been very pleasant at Magnolia Place Assisted Living since Nurse Pat Jones began working there. The newest resident, Imogene Fletcher, is suddenly losing her memory. Maude Jenkins is obsessed with her favorite soap opera and planning her own funeral. Sam Smith, retired Elvis impersonator, keeps trying to bed every woman in the building.
A mystery unfolds with laughter as the gals try to outsmart the evil Nurse Pat Jones and figure out why so many residents have been moved to “the dark side,” what exactly IS that mysterious pill, and what happened to Doctor Head?

South London Theatre is entirely run by its members. As well as for those wanting to direct or appear in shows, there are opportunities to get involved backstage, learn technical skills, help staff the bar, box office or front of house, or help out with our huge costume collection.
If you or someone you know would enjoy supporting SLT and seeing our shows, but perhaps wouldn't wish to get involved on the participation side, you can join our Supporter Circle. This is ideal for anyone who visits us to see shows twice or more in a year.
Coming to see our shows is a great way to support us, but if you’d like to do more to help us fund our wonderful theatre and activities, donations are always gratefully received. You can either donate via Just Giving, (tick Gift Aid if you can to enable us to claim an extra 25% at no extra cost to you) or by making direct payments.
South London Theatre Wardrobe has thousands of items of clothing and costumes for hire. We also hire out props from our collection, accumulated over 50 years.
Our collection spans centuries and cultures, from Greek tunics to medieval tabards and Elizabethan doublet and hose, from Victorian dresses to Edwardian blazers, military uniforms and late 20th century fashion.
We regularly hold Open Mic nights in our Members' Bar, to which new performers and guests are always welcome.
Katrina Rublowsky and Emma Haydon are your hosts and will be happy to book you a slot to perform your music, comedy, poetry, story-telling or whatever you want to share. Email them using the button below or visit our All Events section above and scroll sideways to see when the next Open Mic night is being held.
