Table Read: Summer Shorts 2026

MEMBERS AND SUBMITTED WRITERS ONLY

The SLT membership and the Summer Shorts writers are invited to an informal and social table read of the shortlisted, 10-minute plays, which seek to access the window of opportunity to get onto our shorts bill. Only 10 plays can be staged, so this is your opportunity to come and read or hear them read aloud and have your say as to which the final 10 should be.

The shortlist will be compiled potentially from 85 registered writers, all read by our panel of five, from an anonymised library. Accordingly, the shortlisted texts will be presented and read anonymously, with the writers only being revealed at the end of the afternoon. You can guess writers if you like, but we can't possibly comment! 🙂

Please note, this is NOT an audition session. Auditions are scheduled for 17/18 May. You may apply when they are advertised here.
