Directing at South London Theatre

Directing at South London Theatre – an introduction

Ever considered submitting a play for performance, but not sure what's involved? We're inviting would-be directors to come along to an introduction to our theatre – and the process of directing here. It can be quite a full-on role and it’s good to know exactly what's involved before you throw your hat into the ring.

We will cover the following:

A tour of the theatre explaining how each space works from the director’s point of view
An introduction to directing at SLT including pre-planning, auditions, casting, budgets, technical crew, publicity, rehearsals, pre-show (get in) and show week
Factors to consider before submitting a play
Gaining experience on other productions if you haven’t directed before

Please contact theatrecommittee@southlondontheatre.co.uk if you are interested in coming along.
