Casting: Two

Two is a real time, one scene snapshot of life in a local pub on a weekend evening. The spotlight falls on the couple who run the pub then pairs of their customers and always back again, pulling various relationships into focus. The landlord and landlady are suppressing their sad secret while they paint on smiles for their customers.

Two is a challenging piece requiring two actors with the versatility to play seven different characters each. This complexity and the quality of those auditioning meant I did callbacks to combine actors from the different audition sessions to reach the perfect pair.

I am excited to start rehearsals with Chris - who I've only worked with as stage manager, but never directed - and Polly - who is returning to us for the first time, 33 years after her performance in Daisy Pulls It Off in 1990. Is this the longest break between shows?
