An important note to begin with
All our auditions and shows are open and non-professional with everyone welcome. We take part for the love of making theatre and no one is paid. If you are cast you will need to be a Full Member of the theatre before rehearsals start.

About the show
The play is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s Thumbelina with lots of original songs (Musical Director: Alan Walker) and is approximately 90 minutes long.

A woman gives shelter from the storm to a Fairy Godmother and in return she is granted her one true wish, to have a child of her very own. The Fairy Godmother gives the woman a barleycorn which opens up to reveal a tiny girl called Thumbelina. Mother and daughter are happy together until one day Thumbelina is kidnapped by Mrs Toad who wants to marry Thumbelina to her son, Master Toad. Having persuaded the young toad to keep searching for his one true love, Thumbelina arrives at the river bank with no idea how to get home...

There are lots of parts in the play that will need a strong cast willing to double up and try their hand at anything. We are looking for people who can be part of an ensemble and have lots of fun with costumes, props, movement and music. The auditions will be run in groups with some songs, improv and script work. Please book into one of the 90-minute auditions groups.

Performance dates are 8 - 11 and 15 - 18 December (including weekend matinees)

Please email the director with your audition preference and wait for your confirmation email.
