Young Prince Hamlet has every reason to look forward to the future: he’s handsome, charming and brilliant; heir to the throne of Denmark; madly in love with the gorgeous Ophelia – and not even Prince Harry can compete with his two million followers on TikTok! But all of a sudden, his legendary war-hero father has died in a tragic accident, and his sleazy uncle has schmoozed his way both on to the throne and into his mother’s bed.
In today’s world, where can an emotionally and sexually frustrated young man turn when he feels as though the entire world around him has been set up just to thwart and emasculate him?
Where else…but the Manosphere…

Additional players, courtiers, Priest, Osric, Cornelia: The extent to which we opt for a wider ensemble cast and wider distribution of small roles will depend on the field of auditionees and the extent of interest from actors ultimately not cast in major roles to be involved nonetheless. We are also interested in actors with musical skills (singing and instruments), who might be interested in combining smaller ensemble cast involvement with forming part of a live band to be incorporated into the performance.
This new conceptualisation of Shakespeare’s masterpiece will channel the play’s focus on the nature of illusion and reality, gender and identity, and Self and Other into a distinctly 21st-century exploration of the digital world of social media, neurodivergence, and online misogyny. There is an ambitious plan to make screen projections and live-streaming a central aspect of the production, requiring a versatile and committed cast.
