As a futile, endless war engulfs Europe, Mother Courage and her children haul their cart through the devastated landscape, scraping a living as itinerant merchants to the soldiery, trying to earn enough to stay alive, and often just trying to stay alive at all.
Virtue is a handicap, rewards and punishments are arbitrary, and a war will need feeding in this blood-soaked pantomime.

Yvette Pottier: A prostitute, 20-40, female
Company x 6: All other parts
