Whether you are a cast member wanting to get stuck in at get-ins and get-outs, or a member keen to pitch in with stage management, or even an up-and-coming director wanting to learn the backstage logistics for bringing your stunning set design to life, this Backstage Workshop & Tour is curated to give you a comprehensive overview of how our SLT backstage area runs, and to boost your confidence with using equipment for set builds, strikes - and more!

As well as taking a guided tour around our backstage area to see where everything is kept (and to learn what everything is), we'll be setting to with practical hands-on sessions, including:

- Using drills
- Assembling and fixing flats
- Seat moves
- Moving and hanging lights
- Structuring a briefing and allocating tasks at get-ins and get-outs
- Set painting: locating brushes and paint, and how to clean up

This SLT Backstage Workshop & Tour is a training evening aimed at boosting confidence and skills for DIY days, and to work towards ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to get involved. After this workshop, you'll be able to join the SLT members WhatsApp group chat of 'Backstage Volunteers', where you can keep an eye out for opportunities to help with get-ins and get-outs, and put your learning into practice.
