Welcoming our new Trustee - Mark Bacon

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Trustee to the Board of South London Theatre and Building Preservation Trust. At our last AGM in September we only appointed six out of the seven available trustee positions. Fortunately, our rules allow the Board to appoint new trustees to fill vacancies, or skill gaps, in the interim period between AGMs. Mark Bacon brings a wealth of experience from his role as a senior civil servant in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology where he works on the UK’s space programme. In particular, his experience in strategic planning and managing organisations will be very helpful in developing a long-term plan for the theatre. He lives locally and used to live with his parents at the Gipsy Queen pub just down the road from SLT. Mark is a keen theatre fan and is looking forward to working with us as a member and Trustee.
We do still have vacancies on the Board of Trustees if you are interested in helping support your local community theatre. The role would involve helping develop our long-term plans for South London Theatre and our historic home at the Old Fire Station, as well as overseeing the running of the charities. We are particularly keen to bring on board people with experience in HR, fundraising and Health & Safety. You can email us at trustee-board@southlondontheatre.co.uk.
