Spring / Summer season announced

Theatre Committee is delighted to announce the shows that will be performed at SLT in the first half of the 2026 season, which runs from January to July.

You can see all the new shows on our newly updated upcoming shows page. Please look out for audition notices and opportunities to get involved backstage or as a theatre rep, as these opportunities are announced.

The launch event in the Members’ Bar was well-attended with many of the commissioned directors in attendance, presenting their visions and intentions to a throng of excited, prospective performers and backstage crew, all taking the opportunity to begin to make connections and appointments.

The lineup itself was credited on the night as typically and pleasingly varied, and in many cases surprising, comprising as it does classics from Shakespeare and Robert Louis Stephenson juxtaposed with contemporary plays with only one previous staging. Comedies and dramas also complement each other in the line-up, with big name writers including, Jez Butterworth, Nick Payne and even Agatha Christie! All the above is packed in whilst never forgetting our crucial and exciting Youth Theatre production early in the year.

Thank you to all those who put themselves forward to direct a play for this season. As ever, the standard of submissions was extremely high, which led to some intense deliberations and difficult decisions.

If you submitted this time but were not successful, please don’t be disheartened as we would love for you to keep submitting. A play not being chosen isn’t necessarily a reflection of the quality of your submission; it can just be that it wasn’t the right fit amongst the other shows this time. You may have better luck next time!
