Summer Shorts 2026 – Plays and writers

After a great anonymous table read on Monday 4 May, our panel considered the scoring provided by the assembled readers and audience and we’re proud to announce our lineup of plays and their writers for the Summer Shorts 2026.
After considering an amazing 57 submitted texts for the 10 spots in the programme which is coming up in August 2026, we’ve finally arrived at another exciting final billing, spanning monologue and small company, drama and comedy, all written to this year’s theme of Window, by a mixture of SLT Members and submitters from beyond the Fire Station.
The plays you will see in August in order of performance are:
