Welcome to your Bar page. This is where you can find out all the latest Members Club news and see what's on in the social, beating heart of The Old Fire Station.
The SLT Members’ Bar is a comfortable, welcoming space, open to all members to drop in whenever we're open. It's located in the basement of our historic building and run entirely by volunteers as a Members' Club.
Our aim is to coincide bar opening with all rehearsals, get-ins and get-outs and be available for members and their guests to drop in whether or not they're involved in those activities.

Bring your friends!
Yes, bring your friends! (A reasonable number.) Everyone should enjoy our affordable bar prices and convivial atmosphere.
Do make sure your visitors sign into the building and also our visitors’ book in the bar, so we can keep everyone safe and accounted for. You must accompany your guests (and are responsible for them) at all times whilst they are in the building, so please arrive together and stay together.
Can I use the bar for my event?
The bar can be used as a social space or for low-key or informal group activities, such as play readings or board games any time it's open - respecting other users of the space of course. Members are also welcome to visit the space on special social occasions, but any large group event or special occasion must be arranged with the Bar Committee in advance. Please be aware that no member may have exclusive use of the facilities at any time, so all members have the right to use the bar during any prearranged events.

Volunteer in our bar
We can only open the bar if we have volunteers to staff it. We want to fulfil our aim to coincide with every rehearsal, get-in and get-out, as well as provide a host of fun socials, so that the bar is always open when members need it.
Talk to a bar volunteer next time you're in the theatre to find out more. If you've seen or been in a show at SLT, you'll doubtless have been served by one of our volunteers, so why not pay it back and support those working on upcoming shows? We'd love to show you the ropes.
There's no mental arithmetic or special skills required. The till works like every app on your phone and we only take card payments to make things even simpler. With just an initial training shift, you can be on your way to making a real difference.
Our bar offering
We stock a great selection of drinks at significantly reduced prices compared to the local hostelries. As well as a full range of beers, wines and spirits, we offer guest ales and low-alcohol variants and a good choice of soft drinks well beyond Coke and lemonade.
