SLTC Members Club AGM 2026
South London Theatre Centre Members' Club AGM 2026
Notice is hereby given that the 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the South London Theatre Centre Members' Club will be held on Saturday 16th May, immediately following the SLTC AGM (approx. 20:00).
The purposes of the meeting:
- To approve the minutes of the 51st AGM
- To receive the report of the Bar Committee
- To receive the accounts for the year ended 31 January 2025
- To elect members to Bar Committee (see below)
The AGM will be held in the South London Theatre Members Club Bar, SLT Fire Station, 2a Norwood High Street, London, SE27 9NS
Following the EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) held on the 26th April, where it was proposed and supported that the Members’ Club will become incorporated under SLTC, this will be the last Members’ Club AGM.
As such we will inform members of progress over the last year and plans for the future and vote for those to be on the Members’ Club Committee, which will continue to function as an executive group under SLTC.
The existing Members’ Club Articles and Bye laws will fall under the new proposed structure and SLTC Articles and Bye Laws will replace them. A set of Members’ Club ‘rules’ will still exist, under SLTC, These were also approved at the EGM and will be posted on the website shortly.
At the EGM the members' club rules around fully democratic nomination and voting for the bar committee positions were discussed.
- One house puts forward that that retention of this democratic process highlights positions being available and has the potential therefore to engage the membership.
- The other house contends that the formality of these elections has the potential to intimidate volunteers from coming forward, positioning the roles as they do for full year periods and spotlighting the individual over the more collegiate "team committee."
This debate will be continued with a wider audience at the AGM and a vote will be taken.
We will not be voting on any resolutions for the next year, as the existing Members’ Club Articles and Bye laws will fall under the new proposed structure and SLTC Articles and Bye Laws will replace them. A set of Members’ Club ‘rules’ will still exist, under SLTC, but will have been approved at the EGM.
